Habitat: East facing dry hill prairie dominated by big bluestem and smooth brome on sandy clay soil. Nonnative and native legumes present. Bottom of prairie with occational seepage, or microcommunity with wetter species.
Associated Species: Common associates: Bromus inermis, Andopogon gerardii, Poa pratensis, Solidago altissima, and Lactuca luduviciana.
