Habitat: Narrow band of mixed black spruce and cedar forest along margin of rich black spruce peatland and red pine upland. Growing primarily on lower hollows instead of hummocks.
Associated Species: Common associates: Trichocolea tomentella, Mitella nuda, Circaea alpina, Aralia nudicaulis, and Carex pedunculata.
