Habitat: Upland forest with rolling topography, ephemeral to seasonal wetland depressions common. Clay loam soil with sand component starting at 10cm; redox features present. Substantial earthworm impact (IERAT = 4). Canopy dominated by Populus tremuloides and red maple.

Associated Taxa: Common associates: Clintonia borealis, Eurybia macrophylla, Pteridium aquilinum, Oryzopsis asperifolia, and Carex pedunculata.
