Locality: United States, Minnesota, Cook, Superior National Forest, 0.81mi west of Two Island River rd; 2.63mi north of hwy 1; 5.9mi north of Schroeder.

Habitat: Sugar maple, yellow birch, white cedar upland forest with large birch trees (90cm dbh). Duff layer present and intact. Not much evidence of deer herbivory; cedar seedlings and Taxus common. Yellow birch nurse logs present. Large cobble component (60%) to soil profile.
Associated Species: Common associates: Abies balsamea, Streptopus lanceolatus, Clintonia borealis, Huperzia lucidula, and Trientalis borealis.
