Habitat:
Plants growing in mesic oak savanna. Canopy is composed of sparse bur oak (Quercus Macrocarpon) and aspen (Populus tremuloides) with a ground layer that is strongly dominated by big bluestem(Andropogon gerardii) and Sedges (Carex spp). Soils are sandy loam over sand.
