Habitat: in upland forest next to black spruce (Picea Mariana);
Substrate: single specimen on ground, gravelly-peat at bog edge
Associated Species: Abies balsamea, Alnus sp., Carex sp. in moat;
Description: Pileus: chocolate brown w/ bumpy scales; 35-70 mm diameter (young/old). White veil on younger specimens Flesh whited-yellow; tubes: yellow, angular, radiating; odor not distinct; not tasted; odor not distinct; not tasted; Stipe: 32-42 mm x 10 mm. Yellow at apex w/ distinct division to brown scabrous lower portion. Marks attachment of partial veil. Spore print: yellowish-brown (Kornerup & Wanscher 1978 );
