Habitat: rooted in roadside banks, to 1.5 meters. Also epiphytic in pastures
Description: [in pastures] with branches about 1 meter.; Stem bases about 1 inch in diameter, bark brown. Branches green . Leaves crip, coriaceous, glossy bullate, dark green above, green beneath. Bracts dark pinkish-rose. Rachis and pedicels green to green suffused heavily with rose. Calyx green in bud, tube green and limb paler at anthesis, calyz green post-anthesis. Corolla bluntly 5-angled, white at constricted base, orange middle 1/2, white upper 1/4 plus limb and lobes. Corolla not thick fleshy. Distinct wintergreen odor from all parts of plants. Shrub
