Associated Species: Pinus strobus, Pinus resinosa, Acer saccharinum, Betula nigra
Description: staminate inflorescences creamy white with musty unpleasant odor; with open flowers; pistillate flowers fewer, green; young tree; 12m tall, 15 cm in diameter
Notes: many trees of this species spontaneous within plantation; derived from the heavily fruiting population of dozens of trees planted decades ago; there is some reproduction of all size classes where there is sufficient sunlight; these saplings and young trees look healthy
