Habitat: Confined to sand dunes on Hunting Island. Found on and behind sand dunes throughout the South Carolina coastal barrier islands.
Associated Species: Uniola paniculata, Cenchrus tribuloides
Description: Perennial to 1 m tall, stem and lower surface of leaves with stellate trichome, leaves grayish stem red-brown. Monoecious with small flowers in terminal clusters.
