Habitat: edge of ditch now with water
Associated Species: Phalaris arundinacea, Salix bebbiana
Description: shrub 5m tall; in tight clump with 4 stems; largest 5.1cm 9 years old; wood very pale, staining tan in a few minutes of cutting and rich reddish brown in a few hours
Notes: a few old brown pistillate cones from last year and a very few staminate catkins (well past anthesis) from this year
