tree, to 24.15 m in height, DBH 17.5 cm, trunk height to foliage 12.6 m, crown height 11.55 m, crown width 6.77 m, stilt roots up to 0.58 m; foliage 2 kg mature wet mass, 0.471 kg juvenile wet mass; outer bark rough, flaky; fissures vertical, narrow; bark dark brown, brown, light brown; cambium white, cream; wood white; exudate absent; DNA preserved in silica, wood sample preserved, from felled plot. Local name: mondu Local use: Timber for fence construction and for posts, walls, flooring, and roofing in house construction; firewood for higher elevations and wet days, burns even when freshly cut
