Palm, to 8.1 m in height, DBH 6.7 cm, trunk height to foliage 3.45 m, crown height 4.65 m, crown width 4.7 m; foliage 6.4 kg mature wet mass, 0.1666 kg juvenile wet mass; outer bark rough; fissures vertical, horizontal, broad, narrow; bark grey; cambium light brown, grey; wood black, light brown, grey; exudate absent; DNA preserved in silica, wood sample preserved, from felled plot. Local name: sandu Local use: leaves used for house roofing, used for bow making
