small tree, to 8.1 m in height, DBH 5.8 cm, trunk height to foliage 2.1 m, crown height 6 m, crown width 2.5 m; foliage 3 kg mature wet mass, 0.183 kg juvenile wet mass; outer bark rough, flaky; fissures vertical, narrow; bark dark brown, brown; cambium brown; wood brown, light brown; exudate orange, red; DNA preserved in silica, from felled plot. Local name: mongtop Local use: timber for house construction, posts, fencing and firewood; also used to light fires by friction with strip of bamboo
