small tree, to 10.02 m in height, DBH 5.2 cm, trunk height to foliage 5.9 m, crown height 4.12 m, crown width 2.4 m; foliage 5 kg mature wet mass, 0.1946 kg juvenile wet mass; outer bark rough, flaky; fissures vertical, narrow; bark dark brown, brown, grey; cambium brown, orange; wood brown, light brown; exudate absent; DNA preserved in silica, from felled plot. Local name: mongtop Local use: timber for house construction, posts, fencing and firewood; also used to light fires by friction with strip of bamboo
