small tree, to 11.4 m in height, DBH 8 cm, trunk height to foliage 2.7 m, crown height 8.7 m, crown width 3.1 m; foliage 4 kg mature wet mass, 0.215 kg juvenile wet mass; outer bark rough, flaky; fissures vertical, narrow; bark brown, grey, green; cambium brown, orange; wood brown, light brown; exudate white, orange, red; DNA preserved in silica, from felled plot. Local name: mongtop Local use: timber for house construction, posts, fencing and firewood; also used to light fires by friction with strip of bamboo
