Description:
small tree, to 5.2 m in height, DBH 6.6 cm, trunk height to foliage 1 m, crown height 4.2 m, crown width 1.6 m; foliage 1 kg mature wet mass; outer bark rough, with lenticels; bark black; cambium brown; wood light brown, white; exudate absent; DNA preserved in silica, from felled plot. Local name: mongtop Local use: timber for house construction, posts, fencing and firewood; also used to light fires by friction with strip of bamboo
