small tree, to 4.2 m in height, DBH 5.1 cm, trunk height to foliage 1.9 m, crown height 2.3 m, crown width 2.6 m, stilt roots up to 0.56 m; foliage 0.098 kg mature wet mass; outer bark smooth, with lenticels; fissures vertical, narrow; bark dark brown, brown; cambium brown; wood brown, light brown; exudate absent; DNA preserved in silica, from felled plot. Local name: mongtop Local use: timber for house construction, posts, fencing and firewood; also used to light fires by friction with strip of bamboo
