tree, to 4.47 m in height, DBH 7.6 cm, trunk height to foliage 2.45 m, crown height 2.02 m, crown width 2 m; foliage 0.4 kg mature wet mass; outer bark with lenticels; fissures vertical, horizontal, narrow; bark black; cambium brown; wood white; exudate red; DNA preserved in silica, from felled plot. Local name: mongtop Local use: timber for house construction, posts, fencing and firewood; also used to light fires by friction with strip of bamboo
