small tree, to 8 m in height, DBH 7.2 cm, trunk height to foliage 2.7 m, crown height 5.3 m, crown width 1.3 m; foliage 2 kg mature wet mass; outer bark rough; fissures narrow; bark dark brown; cambium orange; wood brown; exudate red; DNA preserved in silica, from felled plot. Local name: mongtop Local use: timber for house construction, posts, fencing and firewood; also used to light fires by friction with strip of bamboo
