small tree, to 8.96 m in height, DBH 8.9 cm, trunk height to foliage 6.5 m, crown height 2.46 m, crown width 2.3 m; foliage 5 kg mature wet mass; outer bark with lenticels; fissures vertical, narrow; bark black, dark brown; cambium orange; wood white; exudate orange, from felled plot. Local name: mongtop Local use: timber for house construction, posts, fencing and firewood; also used to light fires by friction with strip of bamboo
