small tree, to 7.13 m in height, DBH 7.3 cm, trunk height to foliage 2.93 m, crown height 4.2 m, crown width 3.82 m; foliage 5 kg mature wet mass; outer bark with lenticels; fissures vertical, narrow; bark black, dark brown; cambium orange; wood white; exudate orange; DNA preserved in silica, from felled plot. Local name: mongtop Local use: timber for house construction, posts, fencing and firewood; also used to light fires by friction with strip of bamboo
