small tree, to 8.52 m in height, DBH 6.2 cm, trunk height to foliage 2.55 m, crown height 5.97 m, crown width 2 m; foliage 2 kg mature wet mass; outer bark with lenticels; fissures vertical, narrow; bark black, dark brown; cambium orange; wood white; exudate orange; DNA preserved in silica, from felled plot. Local name: mongtop Local use: timber for house construction, posts, fencing and firewood; also used to light fires by friction with strip of bamboo
