small tree, to 6.1 m in height, DBH 6.3 cm, trunk height to foliage 1 m, crown height 5.1 m, crown width 1.6 m; foliage 0.2 kg mature wet mass; outer bark with lenticels; fissures vertical, narrow; bark black, dark brown; cambium orange; wood white; exudate orange; DNA preserved in silica, from felled plot. Local name: mongtop Local use: timber for house construction, posts, fencing and firewood; also used to light fires by friction with strip of bamboo
