small tree, to 3.9 m in height, DBH 5.4 cm, trunk height to foliage 1.9 m, crown height 2 m, crown width 2.1 m; foliage 0.167 kg mature wet mass, 0.078 kg juvenile wet mass; outer bark with lenticels; fissures vertical, narrow; bark black, dark brown; cambium orange; wood white; exudate orange; DNA preserved in silica, from felled plot. Local name: mongtop Local use: timber for house construction, posts, fencing and firewood; also used to light fires by friction with strip of bamboo
