tree, to 15 m in height, DBH 12.8 cm, trunk height to foliage 8.7 m, crown height 6.3 m, crown width 1.89 m; foliage 4.7 kg mature wet mass, 0.0471 kg juvenile wet mass; outer bark rough, flaky; fissures vertical, narrow; bark light brown, red, pink; cambium white, cream; wood light brown, white; exudate red; DNA preserved in silica, wood sample preserved, from felled plot. Local name: mongtop Local use: timber for house construction, posts, fencing and firewood; also used to light fires by friction with strip of bamboo
