Description: pandanus, to 12 m in height, DBH 13 cm, trunk height to foliage 8 m, crown height 4 m, crown width 5.5 m, stilt roots up to 4.3 m, spines or thorns present; foliage 17 kg mature wet mass, 0.5026 kg juvenile wet mass; outer bark smooth, rough, with lenticels; fissures vertical, narrow; bark light brown, white, green; cambium light brown, white; wood light brown, white; exudate absent; DNA preserved in silica, wood sample preserved, from felled plot. Local name: umong Local use: split stems used for fencing, flooring, house posts, and fireplaces; leaves used for roofing and weaving; roots used in tying grass skirts
