Habitat: Occasional to locally abundant at the southwestern end of the narrow, bedrock-entrenched basin that encompasses Cuckoo Lake. Forming rather dense carpets in the narrow semi-terrestrial ecotone between mud flats and a dense stand of Myrica gale at the upland margin. Moist organic silt amongst rocks and small boulders. Full sun most of the day.
Associated Species: Associates include Juncus brevicaudatus, Carex cryptolepis, Scirpus atrocinctus, Glyceria grandis, Dulichium arundinaceum, Muhlenbergia uniflora, Hypericum majus.
