United States, Minnesota, Cook, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Rugged bedrock terrain between Brule and Winchell Lakes, 21 miles northwest of Grand Marais. T63N R3W W1/2 of SW1/4 of NE1/4 Sec. 1, W1/2 of NW1/4 of SE1/4 Sec. 1
Habitat:
Along the portage between Wanihigan and Mulligan Lakes, in a narrow valley between the steep slopes of 200-foot ridges. Locally common along a small flowage in a long, narrow wetland basin. Loose patches in moist exposed muck and saturated peat. Full sun.
Associated Species:
Associates include Torreyochloa pallida, Agrostis scabra, Glyceria canadensis, Carex utriculata, C. michauxiana, C. cryptolepis, Juncus brevicaudatus, J. effusus, Sparganium emersum, Galium trifidum, Lycopus uniflorus, Hypericum majus, Callitriche palustris, Potentilla palustris, Myrica gale.
