Habitat: On the extremely steep mid-portion of a 220-foot, south-facing slope above the west end of Vernon Lake. Local, forming a rather dense patch at the upper margin of a zone of open talus, at the base of 60- to 90-foot basalt cliffs. Rooted amongst talus blocks mostly ~6-18 inches in diameter. Mostly in full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Parthenocissus inserta, Toxicodendron rydbergii, Celastrus scandens, Corylus cornuta, Polygonum scandens.
