Habitat:
Local in a fairly large granitic outcrop - jack pine barrens complex on the west side of Gasket Lake. Occasional to frequent, scattered clumps and small patches in shallow dry soil over bedrock, on a gradual to moderately steep southeast-facing slope. Full sun to partial shade of Pinus banksiana.
Associated Species:
Associates include Dichanthelium xanthophysum, Danthonia spicata, Agrostis scabra, Carex rugosperma, Polygonum cilinode, Corydalis sempervirens, Maianthemum canadense, Vaccinium angustifolium, V. myrtilloides, Juniperus communis, Rubus strigosus, Cladina spp.
