Habitat: Local in a fairly large granitic outcrop - jack pine barrens complex on the west side of Gasket Lake. Uncommon in shallow dry soil over bedrock, on a gradual to moderately steep southeast-facing slope. Partial shade of Pinus banksiana.
Associated Species: Associates include Danthonia spicata, Dichanthelium depauperatum, Agrostis scabra, Polygonum cilinode, Corydalis sempervirens, Maianthemum canadense, Vaccinium angustifolium, Woodsia ilvensis, Cladina spp.
