Habitat: Occasional to locally common on the margins of a small island in the eastern third of the long, narrow lake. Scattered, often dense patches in coarse sand, cobbles, and gravel. In shoreline zone exposed by receding water levels (~12-18 inches below the early season high mark); and in adjacent shallow water. Full sun to partial shade of Myrica gale.
Associated Species: Associates include Rhynchospora fusca, Carex cryptolepis, C. lasiocarpa, C. echinata, C. lenticularis, Eleocharis palustris, Equisetum fluviatile, Lysimachia terrestris, Eriocaulon aquaticum, Lycopus uniflorus.
