Habitat: Local along the portage between Wanihigan and Mulligan Lakes, in a narrow valley between the steep slopes of 200-foot ridges. Uncommon along the margins of a small flowage in a long, narrow wetland basin. Small dense clumps in exposed wet muck. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Juncus brevicaudatus, Sparganium emersum, Callitriche palustris, Galium trifidum, Viola pallens, Lycopus uniflorus, Carex utriculata, Torreyochloa pallida, Agrostis scabra.
