Habitat: Locally frequent on the margin of a small slack water flowage channel through a shrub fen. In exposed wet peat in an area frequently disturbed by wildlife (beaver?), not far upstream from a beaver dam that was breached several years ago. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Juncus brevicaudatus, Torreyochloa pallida, Glyceria borealis, Carex utriculata, Callitriche palustris, Hypericum majus, Viola macloskeyi, Sparganium emersum.
