Habitat: Local in a small (~2-acre) pond in a rich sedge/shrub wetland along the drainage west of South Cone and Middle Cone Lakes. Forming dense patches in shallow water on the outer portions of pond, and in wet peat in the transitional zone to the adjacent sedge fen. Full sun. Leaves with a subtle bluish color compared to the greener Carex utriculata and C. lasiocarpa nearby.
Associated Species: Associates include Myrica gale, Dulichium arundinaceum, Eleocharis palustris.
