Frequent on the twigs and small branches of Picea mariana in a poor conifer swamp in a depression on the ridge northeast of Brule Bay. Saturated peat with continuous Sphagnum carpets. Full sun to partial shade of stunted Picea mariana, Larix laricina, and widely scattered Pinus strobus.
Associates include Ledum groenlandicum, Andromeda glaucophylla, Gaultheria hispidula, Chamaedaphne calyculata.
