Habitat:
Local at base of the steep west-facing slope of a 140-foot bedrock hill. Uncommon in dry talus below small mid-slope granitic cliffs and outcrops, at the northern end of a ~1/4-mile long cliff and talus feature which is more prominent to the south. In a narrow zone of lightly forested talus, on level ground immediately adjacent to the slope. Talus blocks are 6-30 inches in diameter, smaller than those to the south. Shaded by Abies balsamea, Picea glauca, P. mariana, Sorbus decora, and Betula papyrifera.
Associated Species:
Associates include Cladina spp. lichens, Polypodium virginianum, Woodsia ilvensis, Ribes glandulosum.
