Habitat:
Uncommon and local on a narrow sandbar (~6 feet wide by 50 feet long) exposed by receding water levels. In moist sand 1-4 inches above the current river level. Full sun most of the day.

Associates include Eragrostis hypnoides, Leersia oryzoides, Veronica catenata, Zosterella dubia, Ranunculus aquatilis, Eleocharis intermedia, Scirpus atrovirens, Sparganium eurycarpum, Alisma sp.
