Habitat:
Local on 30- to 50-foot northeast-facing cliffs, on the steep mid- to upper slope of a 250-foot bedrock hill. Infrequent on narrow ledges of thinly-bedded Rove Formation sedimentary bedrock. Dry-mesic to mesic, lower- to mid-cliff settings. Shaded by Betula cordifolia, B. papyrifera, Abies balsamea, and Acer spicatum. Yellow petals.
