Habitat: Local, several plants on the riverbank in a rather heavily grazed open woodland. Full sun to partial shade of Pinus banksiana, Quercus macrocarpa, and Picea glauca. Patchy canopy. Silty-clay colluvium at the base of a 15-foot high vertical cut bank. Plants climbing / twining onto the surrounding vegetation, to ~15 feet high.
Associated Species: Associates include Cirsium vulgare, C. arvense, Melilotus alba, Amelanchier sp.
