Habitat:
Local on a narrow sandbar (~6 feet wide by 50 feet long) exposed by receding water levels. Occasional in moist sand 1-4 inches above the current river level. Full sun most of the day here.

Associates include Leersia oryzoides, Echinochloa muricata var. microstachya, Eleocharis intermedia, Scirpus atrovirens, Veronica catenata, Zosterella dubia, Alisma sp., Ranunculus aquatilis, Sparganium eurycarpum.
