Habitat:
Occasional to frequent in dry barrens prairie and sand savanna on stabilized dunes south of Little Rock Lake. Mostly in full sun; some in partial shade of Juniperus virginiana and Quercus macrocarpa. Fine sand with little organic matter. In level to sloping settings, typically in open sand.
