Elevation: 594 meters Verbatim Elevation: 1950ft

Habitat: Frequent in open conifer woodland on low (~20-foot) bedrock ridges north of Ball Club Creek, east of Trine Lake. Partial shade beneath patchy canopy of mature Picea mariana, and scattered smaller Abies balsamea. Shallow silty-clay over gently sloping diabase/gabbro. Trailing through thick moss and lichen mats (Dicranum, Polytrichum, Pleurozium, Cladina).

Associated Taxa: Associates in depauperate ground layer include Linnaea borealis, Diphasiastrum complanatum, D. tristachyum, Chimaphila umbellata, Maianthemum canadense, Gaultheria hispidula, Vaccinium angustifolium.
