Habitat: Rare and local on southeastern shore of Trine Lake. A few clumps on the rather dry southeast face of a 20-foot high diabase/gabbro outcrop rising out of the edge of the lake. In crevices on the lower portion of the steeply-sloping rock face. Full sun to partial shade of Abies balsamea and Picea mariana.
Associated Species: Associates include Cladina sp. lichens, Huperzia xbuttersii, Sorbus decora, Viola macloskeyi, Carex utriculata, Agrostis scabra.
