Rare and local on southeastern shore of Trine Lake. A few clumps on the rather dry southeast face of a 20-foot high diabase/gabbro outcrop rising out of the edge of the lake. In crevices on the lower portion of the steeply-sloping rock face. Full sun to partial shade of Abies balsamea and Picea mariana. [Originally det. as H. porophila, Robert Preston, 2011]
