Habitat:
Occasional to common in shallow water along the south shore of Carl Lake. Substrate varies from fine sand to mucky sand. In water up to 4 feet deep. Loose to fairly dense patches here.

Associates include Potamogeton spirillus, Equisetum fluviatile, Lobelia kalmii, Eleocharis palustris, Eriocaulon aquaticum, Sparganium fluctuans, Chara sp.
