Habitat: Uncommon on large, west-facing, granitic cliff southeast of Misquah Lake. Scattered small clumps on lower ledges, and less commonly in the uppermost talus along the base of the dry 80- to 150-foot high cliff. Rooted in thin organic detritus over bare rock.
Associated Species: Associates in this very sparsely-vegetated, lichen-dominated setting include Campanula rotundifolia, Dryopteris fragrans, Woodsia ilvensis.
