Occasional to abundant quite locally in sedge fen on the shore of a small (1-acre) bog pond between Larsen and Otto Lakes. Forming rather dense and often large patches in subtly lower, wetter microsites. Quaky saturated peat. Sphagnum moss carpets. Sporadic around the entire perimeter of the pond. Full sun.
Associates include Rhynchospora alba, R. fusca, Carex limosa, C. oligosperma, Trichophorum cespitosum, Juncus stygius, Utricularia cornuta, Scheuchzeria palustris, Pogonia ophioglossoides, Kalmia polifolia, Andromeda glaucophylla, Vaccinium oxycoccus.
