Habitat: Uncommon on cliffs and steeply-sloping outcrops rising o 40 feet high along the south shore of Finn Lake. Rooted in moss mats (Pleurozium schreberi, Sphagnum sp. [section Acutifolia,] etc.) on narrow ledges of the little-fractured, northerly-facing, gabbro (troctolite?) bedrock. Partially shaded mesic settings. [originally det. as H. x bartleyi - Robert Preston, 2011]
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex deflexa, Agrostis scabra, Woodsia ilvensis, Maianthemum canadense, Antennaria howellii ssp. canadensis, Spiraea alba, Vaccinium myrtilloides.
