Habitat: Infrequent to occasional in dry conifer woodland on a low bedrock ridge east of Muskeg Lake and north of Kiskadinna Lake. Partial shade beneath patchy canopy of Picea mariana, with frequent Pinus banksiana. Shallow silty soil over bedrock, often near the margins of gabbro outcrops. Small loose patches, often in carpets of Pleurozium and Cladina.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Dendrolycopodium dendroideum, D. hickeyi, Diphasiastrum complanatum, Lycopodium clavatum, Linnaea borealis, Cornus canadensis, Cypripedium acaule, Vaccinium angustifolium.
